Help with reducing your footprint

Our main purpose is to encourage one and all to reduce the effect that we have on the environment. Most of us aren’t prepared to change our lifestyle dramatically and give up all the technology and luxuries that humans have developed and that’s not what we ask. There are so many ways to ameliorate what we do to the planet….every little helps!

 - Reduce waste 

We try to source products that are minimally packaged. Many of our cards are packaged in compostable packaging. We don't use plastic carriers and we don't insist that you take it away in a paper bag! We also encourage customers to reuse our cardboard boxes and cellophane wrappers that cards come in. We now hae a Ecover washing up liquid refill station so customers can bring in the bottles to refill...saving money as well as plastic!.

 - Use eco-friendly alternatives

We know that people like to buy gifts and cards for their friends and family, so we look for eco-friendly items that are good alternatives at a reasonable price. If you know of items that are not available then please let us know and we’ll try and stock them. We stock lots of locally- and UK-made items.

 - Buy locally Worldwide transport of goods has a huge effect on the environment….buying products made locally or at least in the UK dramatically reduces this effect. We are a local shop providing our community with an excellent range of cards and gifts….to save them travelling huge distances. Most of our customers are locals, but if you are coming past our way then feel free to drop in.

 - Recycle and reuse

We look for gifts made from recycled materials as well as making our own cards from old cards donated by our customers. If you have cards you’d like to donate then please bring them in. We use the good bits and put the rest in the green bin.

We make and sell eco-friendly party bunting.....made by us from commercial waste....colourful banners for all occasions. We can even make them to order. 

We have a range of party bags, gift bags, peg bags, shoulder bags/purses as well as kid's aprons made locally from unwanted textiles.
